Artist Spotlight: Kim Barry

Artist Kim Barry’s exhibits have travelled the world. In 2010, along with collaborator Joey Thate, the duo opened Suite 106, a 3,000 square foot studio in Jacksonville, Florida. The project was in collaboration with Downtown Vision and the Cultural Council, as part of the “Off the Grid” movement with the intent to revitalize the city of Jacksonville. This year, Barry and Thate relocated to Los Angeles, California to open a studio in September at The Brewery Artist Compound in Downtown Los Angeles.  Exhibit Ambush is excited to feature Barry’s work on October 22. Introducing EXHIBIT AMBUSH

On October 22, 2011, Exhibit Ambush will be embarking on the nation's first multi-sensory fashion show. The event will be held at the luxurious Horton Plaza venue in the trendy Gaslamp district of downtown San Diego, California.  Exhibit Ambush is transforming the space into an artistic extravaganza. Exhibit Ambush explores the components of this new paradigm: The diversity of imagination and creativity, and the importance of commitment to our own capabilities. The premise behind this event; came from all the unique emerging artists that rarely get exposure. Our staff draws most of their inspiration from their surroundings, social networking, street fashions, research, and the classic creative underdogs. Imagine garments made out of food or some nonconventional item you don't see every day. We're pushing our artists to the ultimate limit. This event is for every artist and designer that relish in taking risks, and shocking the media leaving them wanting more. Fashion and art are an integral part of our culture and lifestyle. Our goal is to create an event that allows the artists creative freedom to explore and embrace a new millennium of creativity.
